ABOUT THE JOURNAL

OBJECTIVES
To encourage research, knowledge, learning in the conduction of scientific studies and Continuing Medical Education through the publication and dissemination of biomedical literature.

AREAS OF INTEREST
The Uruguayan Medical Journal (RMU - Revista Médica del Uruguay) is a journal that covers all areas of the biomedical knowledge.

HISTORICAL
RMU was founded in August 1974.
As a consequence of the political-institutional situation in Uruguay, the publication of RMU was interrupted.
In November 1985, after the recovery of democracy, RMU started its second era with no interruption until today.

FREQUENCY: As of the year 2021, the magazine switches to the Rolling Pass mode (continuous publication) keeping its four issues open during the year of publication.

ABBREVIATED TITLE: The abbreviation of the title is Rev Méd Urug, and this abbreviation needs to be used in bibliographies, footnotes, captions and bibliographic references.
