The purpose of this essay is to analyze the invisibility of the crime of human trafficking in Uruguay. It includes the normative analysis of the typified crime, international treaties, and Uruguayan jurisprudence. It seeks to answer why human trafficking is an invisible crime in Uruguay and present current challenges and the importance of public measures and policies for crime prevention.
