It discusses the convergences and divergences related to information literacy and managerial skills. Therefore, we sought to conceptualize the expressions information literacy and its variants, as well as to describe what is understood by professional competencies, with managerial skills standing out among them. Some drivers of change are presented that will impact the performance of different professionals in different segments, in order to demonstrate whether the skills acquired by the information professional will, in fact, meet medium and long-term changes, as well as the new demands of society.
