This article discusses some aspects of academic training and interventions in the field of child psychomotor clinic. For this, the main milestones in the evolution of this disciplinary field are highlighted, pointing out the processes of differentiation and conceptual and practical specification through which the discipline has passed and passes, both internationally and nationally. Subsequently, some considerations are made regarding training in the clinical area, taking as a starting point the spaces in which the practices are carried out in the field of the University of the Republic, highlighting the consolidation of spaces different from the traditional ones located in the hospital setting. Some specificities of training in the area of child psychomotor clinic are then worked on from the articulation of the substantive functions of the University, in particular the tasks related to assistance and teaching. It is understood that theoretical and practical training in the clinical area is aimed at developing a particular understanding of the psychomotor structure and the circumstances in which it is configured, and of the interplay between the singular and the general, dimensions that go through development psychomotor. The paper ends by posing some challenges of the current psychomotor clinic. In particular, the importance of carrying out interventions that takes into account the closest bonding context of the child, but also the social and historical context of their development.
