In this study, we analyzed, from the Discourse Analysis perspective, the subjective processes found in the electoral advertisements transmitted by the television broadcasting stations, in the campaigns for city council and mayor of Cuiabá in 2004. We have chosen for investigation the advertising campaigns, where, through the functioning of imaginary formations, the feeling of belonging to the cuiabania (Cuiaba(na) community) is formulated. We understand that this cuiabanidade affirmation is an effect of ideological interpellation-identification, which produces in the subject the affirmation of identitary unity. In the campaign advertisements, subjects and meanings constitute themselves in a space of contradiction between different and divergent subject positions. What can be observed in the constitution of the subject positions, in some advertisements, is a web, at times diffused, of ideological filiations
