Esta entidad, de diagnóstico habitualmente tardío y sin tratamiento específico, requiere un enfoque clínico preciso para evitar intervenciones innecesarias. En el presente caso, además del electromiograma, se destaca la utilidad de la ecografía muscular como herramienta complementaria para apoyar el diagnóstico. El reconocimiento oportuno de esta patología permite instaurar estrategias de rehabilitación temprana, orientadas a preservar la funcionalidad y mejorar la calidad de vida del paciente.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract We present the clinical case of a patient with sporadic inclusion body myositis, an acquired, progressive myopathy commonly seen in individuals over 50 years of age. This condition is often diagnosed late and currently lacks specific treatment. In this case, in addition to electromyography, we highlight the role of muscle ultrasound as a complementary tool to support diagnosis. Early recognition of the disease enables the implementation of timely rehabilitation strategies aimed at preserving functionality and improving the patient&#8217;s quality of life.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo Apresentamos o caso clínico de um paciente com miopatia por corpúsculos de inclusão esporádica, uma miopatia adquirida, progressiva e prevalente em indivíduos com mais de 50 anos. Trata-se de uma condição de diagnóstico frequentemente tardio e sem tratamento específico disponível até o momento. Neste caso, além da eletroneuromiografia, destacamos a utilidade da ultrassonografia muscular como ferramenta complementar no apoio diagnóstico. O reconhecimento precoce da doença permite a implementação de estratégias de reabilitação voltadas à preservação da funcionalidade e à melhora da qualidade de vida do paciente.]]></p></abstract>
