Un indicador de calidad es una herramienta para medir el grado de calidad de atención recibida por los pacientes. Existe una relación entre mejor calidad de atención y mejores resultados para los pacientes con patologías crónicas. Aunque todavía la evidencia del impacto de la calidad de atención en el LES es escasa e inexistente en nuestro país.  Objetivos: evaluar el cumplimiento de indicadores de calidad de atención en los pacientes con LES asistidos en la Unidad de Enfermedades Autoinmunes Sistémicas (UEAS) del Hospital de Clínicas.  Materiales y método: estudio descriptivo, transversal que incluyó 97 pacientes con LES. A partir de historias clínicas y encuestas telefónicas, se evaluó el cumplimiento de 17 indicadores de calidad.  Resultados: se encontró un 67,2% de desempeño promedio en los indicadores de calidad; observándose un alto grado de cumplimiento en variables relacionadas con la nefritis lúpica (de 86,4% a 92,3%), manejo de la enfermedad hacia la remisión clínica (81,4%) y adecuado uso y manejo de corticoides (90,3%). Pero se evidenció un menor acatamiento en la valoración de los factores de riesgo cardiovascular (54,6%), en el uso de los índices de actividad (43,3%) y en el manejo de la hidroxicloroquina (45,3%).  Conclusiones: se observó variabilidad en el cumplimiento de los indicadores de calidad de atención, en su mayoría similar a reportes de series internacionales previos. Este estudio va a ser punto de partida para optimizar la calidad de atención en nuestra unidad.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Introduction: systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a systemic autoimmune disease associated with high morbidity. A quality indicator is a tool used to measure the degree of quality of care received by patients. There is a relationship between better quality of care and better outcomes for patients with chronic diseases. However, evidence regarding the impact of quality of care in SLE is still scarce and non-existent in our country.  Objectives: to assess the compliance with quality of care indicators in patients with SLE attended at the Systemic Autoimmune Diseases Unit (UEAS) of the Hospital de Clínicas.  Materials and method: A descriptive, cross-sectional study including 97 patients with SLE. Compliance with 17 quality indicators was evaluated through medical records and telephone surveys.  Results: an average performance of 67.2% was found across the quality indicators; a high level of compliance was observed in variables related to lupus nephritis (ranging from 86.4% to 92.3%), disease management aimed at clinical remission (81.4%), and proper use and management of corticosteroids (90.3%). However, lower compliance was observed in the assessment of cardiovascular risk factors (54.6%), use of disease activity indices (43.3%), and management of hydroxychloroquine (45.3%).  Conclusions: variability was observed in compliance with quality of care indicators, mostly similar to previous international series. This study will serve as a starting point to optimize the quality of care in our unit.]]></p></abstract>

Existe uma relação entre melhor qualidade de atenção e melhores resultados em pacientes com doenças crônicas. No entanto, a evidência sobre o impacto da qualidade da atenção no LES ainda é escassa e inexistente em nosso país.  Objetivos: avaliar o cumprimento dos indicadores de qualidade de atenção em pacientes com LES atendidos na Unidade de Doenças Autoimunes Sistêmicas (UEAS) do Hospital de Clínicas.  Materiales y metodo: estudo descritivo e transversal que incluiu 97 pacientes com LES. O cumprimento de 17 indicadores de qualidade foi avaliado a partir de prontuários médicos e de entrevistas telefônicas.  Resultados: Foi encontrado um desempenho médio de 67,2% nos indicadores de qualidade; observou-se alto grau de cumprimento nas variáveis relacionadas à nefrite lúpica (de 86,4% a 92,3%), no manejo da doença visando à remissão clínica (81,4%) e no uso e manejo adequado dos corticosteroides (90,3%). No entanto, houve menor adesão na avaliação dos fatores de risco cardiovascular (54,6%), no uso de índices de atividade da doença (43,3%) e no manejo da hidroxicloroquina (45,3%).  Conclusões: Observou-se variabilidade no cumprimento dos indicadores de qualidade de atenção, na maioria dos casos semelhante a relatos de séries internacionais anteriores. Este estudo servirá como ponto de partida para otimizar a qualidade de atenção em nossa unidade.]]></p></abstract>
