Objetivos:  validar este material dirigido a cuidadores primarios de niños hospitalizados en el Centro Hospitalario Pereira Rossell.  Metodología:  estudio observacional transversal que incluyó a cuidadores primarios mayores de 18 años de edad de niños/as y adolescentes hospitalizados durante los meses de julio a setiembre de 2024. Los participantes evaluaron el material en términos de atractividad, aceptación, entendimiento, identificación e inducción al cambio mediante preguntas cerradas (dicotómicas y escala de Likert) y abiertas.  Resultados:  se realizaron 220 entrevistas. La mediana de edad de los cuidadores primarios fue 30 años, de género femenino 198 (90%) y madres 176 (80%). A 215 (98%) personas les pareció interesante el material. Consideraron probable leerlo por su cuenta 179 (81,4%). Las investigadoras interpretaron que la expresión de las entrevistadas coincidía con el mensaje en 90,9%. Los cuidadores consideraron que entendían el mensaje en el 92,7% de los casos. Consideraron probable que le pasara la situación planteada en el material 191 personas (86,8%). Refirieron que era muy probable que este material sirviera para modificar su accionar el 40%.  Conclusiones:  los resultados mostraron que el material educativo validado fue aprobado por la mayoría de las personas, cumpliendo así los objetivos propuestos en base a los cinco criterios utilizados. Asimismo, la retroalimentación recibida durante el proceso de validación permitió reconocer áreas de mejora. Esta validación proporciona una base sólida para futuras investigaciones y mejoras en el material educativo con el objetivo de promover prácticas de salud óptimas y mejorar la calidad del cuidado infantil.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary:  Introduction:  in 2023, professors from the Academic Unit of Pediatrics C, School of Medicine, developed informative material on relevant health topics.  Objectives:  validate this material aimed at primary caregivers of hospitalized children at the Pereira Rossell Hospital Center.  Methodology:  cross-sectional observational study that included primary caregivers over 18 years old of hospitalized children and adolescents from July to September 2024. Participants evaluated the material in terms of attractiveness, acceptance, understanding, identification, and inducement to change through closed (dichotomous and Likert scale) and open-ended questions.  Results:  220 interviews were conducted. The median age of caregivers was 30 years; 198 (90%) were women and 176 (80%) were mothers. 215 (98%) found the material interesting, and 179 (81.4%) considered it likely to read on their own. Researchers interpreted that 90.9% of the participants&#8217; expressions aligned with the message. Caregivers understood the message in 92.7% of cases and 191 (86.8%) considered the situation presented in the material as likely. Additionally, 40% mentioned that it was very likely that this material would modify their actions. Objetivos:  validar este material direcionado a cuidadores primários de crianças hospitalizadas no Centro Hospitalar Pereira Rossell.  Metodologia:  estudo observacional transversal que incluiu cuidadores primários com mais de 18 anos de idade de crianças e adolescentes hospitalizados durante os meses de julho a setembro de 2024. Os participantes avaliaram o material em termos de atratividade, aceitação, entendimento, identificação e indução à mudança por meio de perguntas fechadas (dicotômicas e escala de Likert) e abertas.  Resultados:  foram realizadas 220 entrevistas. A mediana de idade dos cuidadores primários foi de 30 anos, sendo 198 (90%) do sexo feminino e 176 (80%) mães. Duzentos e quinze (98%) pessoas acharam o material interessante. Cento e setenta e nove (81,4%) consideraram provável lê-lo por conta própria. As pesquisadoras interpretaram que a expressão das entrevistadas coincidia com a mensagem em 90,9%. Os cuidadores consideraram que entendiam a mensagem em 92,7% dos casos. Cento e noventa e uma pessoas (86,8%) consideraram provável que a situação apresentada no material acontecesse com elas. Quarenta por cento relataram ser muito provável que este material servisse para modificar suas ações.  Conclusões:  os resultados mostraram que o material educativo validado foi aprovado pela maioria das pessoas, cumprindo assim os objetivos propostos com base nos cinco critérios utilizados. Da mesma forma, o feedback recebido durante o processo de validação permitiu reconhecer áreas de melhoria.
