<self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.edu.uy/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&amp;pid=S2301-15482018000200102&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.edu.uy/scielo.php?script=sci_abstract&amp;pid=S2301-15482018000200102&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><self-uri xlink:href="http://www.scielo.edu.uy/scielo.php?script=sci_pdf&amp;pid=S2301-15482018000200102&amp;lng=en&amp;nrm=iso"></self-uri><abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="es"><p><![CDATA[Resumen: En una prueba de digestibilidad fecal aparente (DFA) y metabolismo proteico con cerdos en recría se estudiaron seis dietas isoproteicas e isoenergéticas difiriendo en sus componentes: T1 (testigo): maíz y harina de soja (HS); T2: maíz + 11 % de HS, 23 % arveja (A) + 12,5 % expeller canola (C); T3: maíz + 5 % de HS + 30 % A + 16,3 % C; T4: sorgo bajo tanino (BT) + HS; T5: sorgo BT +13 % de HS + 13,5 % A + 15 % C; T6: sorgo BT + 5 % de HS + 35 % A + 15,3 % C. Se utilizaron cuatro cerdos por tratamiento, con un peso promedio de 43,43 kg, alojados en jaulas de digestibilidad individuales. El periodo experimental comprendió siete días de acostumbramiento y cinco de recolección. El nivel de consumo se estableció para realizar un aporte de 2,4 veces el requerimiento energético para mantenimiento. Se realizó recolección total de heces y orina. Se determinó la DFA de materia seca (MS), materia orgánica (MO), proteína cruda (PC) y energía bruta (EB), así como el valor biológico aparente de la proteína (VB) y el valor proteico neto aparente (VPN) de las dietas. Las dietas con sorgo BT fueron superiores en DFA de la MS y EB. No se observaron diferencias de valor proteico entre dietas. Se concluye que es posible sustituir la totalidad del maíz por sorgo BT en dietas para cerdos, y que la combinación de arveja forrajera y expeller de canola puede remplazar hasta 83 % de la harina de soja manteniendo los niveles de lisina y aminoácidos azufrados, sin afectar su aporte nutritivo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary: In a test of fecal apparent digestibility (FAD) and protein metabolism in rearing pigs six isoproteic and isocaloric diets with different components were studied: T1 (control): corn and soybean meal (SM); T2: corn + 11 % of SM + 23 % peas (P) + 12,5 % canola expeller (C); T3: corn + 5 % of SM + 30 % P + 16.3 % C; T4: low tannin (LT) sorghum + SM; T5: LT sorghum + 13 % of SM + 13,5 % P + 15 % C; T6: LT sorghum + 5 % of SM + 35 % P + 15,3 % C. Four pigs per treatment, with an average weight of 43.43 kg, housed in individual digestibility cages were used. The experimental period comprised seven days of habituation and five days of collection. The consumption level was established to make a contribution of 2.4 times the energy requirement for maintenance. Total collection of feces and urine was performed. We determined the FAD of dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM), crude protein (CP) and gross energy (GE) as well as the apparent biological value of the protein (VB), and the apparent net protein value (NPV) of diets. LT sorghum diets were higher in FAD of the MS and EB. There were no differences in protein value between diets. We concluded that it is possible to totally replace the corn by LT sorghum in diets for growing pigs, and that the combination of peas and canola expeller can replace up to 83 % of the soybean meal maintaining the levels of lysine and sulfur amino acids, without affecting its nutritional contribution.]]></p></abstract>
