Pero no fue hasta la invención de los ordenadores, y el desarrollo de los sistemas digitales, cuando se produjo verdaderamente un giro copernicano dentro del diseño, una revolución que vino a reemplazar los procesos de diseño tradicionales, basados en el dibujo manual. A partir de estos supuestos, y con la hipótesis de que una nueva generación de procedimientos digitales, pasaron de representar el espacio (diseño digital), a ser utilizados como una herramienta potenciadora de las capacidades proyectuales de los diseñadores (diseño computacional), este trabajo tiene como objetivo, el análisis y la clasificación de tres proyectos emblemáticos de finales del siglo XX que, aunque no construidos, marcaron un hito en la historia de la arquitectura reciente. Para su análisis, tomaremos como referencia la taxonomía elaborada por Inês Caetano, Luís Santos y António Leitão, en su artículo Computational design in architecture: Defining parametric, generative, and algorithmic design (2020). En dicho artículo, los autores identifican que la bibliografía científica contemporánea relacionada con el diseño computacional, se encuentra asociada a tres términos: el diseño paramétrico, el diseño algorítmico y el diseño generativo. Razón por la cual, utilizaremos estos términos como ejes centrales para nuestra clasificación y análisis.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract: Throughout history, man has sought to perfect systems for creating and representing space ever more accurately. But it was not until the invention of computers and the development of digital systems that a Copernican turning point in design truly took place, a revolution that replaced traditional design processes based on manual drawing. Based on these assumptions, and with the hypothesis that a new generation of digital procedures went from representing space (digital design) to being used as a tool to enhance the design capabilities of designers (computational design), this paper aims to analyse and classify three emblematic projects of the late twentieth century that, although not built, marked a milestone in the history of recent architecture. For their analysis, we will take as a reference the taxonomy elaborated by Inês Caetano, Luís Santos and António Leitão, in their article Computational design in architecture: Defining parametric, generative, and algorithmic design (2020). In this article, the authors identify that contemporary scientific literature related to computational design is associated with three terms: parametric design, algorithmic design, and generative design. For this reason, we will use these terms as central axes for our classification and analysis.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="pt"><p><![CDATA[Resumo: Ao longo da história, o homem tem procurado aperfeiçoar sistemas para criar e representar o espaço de forma cada vez mais precisa. Mas foi só com a invenção dos computadores e o desenvolvimento de sistemas digitais que se deu verdadeiramente um ponto de viragem copernicano no design, uma revolução que substituiu os processos tradicionais de design baseados no desenho manual. Com base nestas premissas, e com a hipótese de que uma nova geração de procedimentos digitais passou de representar o espaço (design digital) para ser usada como ferramenta para melhorar as capacidades de design dos designers (design computacional), o objetivo deste trabalho é analisar e classificar três projetos emblemáticos do final do século XX que, embora não construídos, marcaram um marco na história da arquitetura recente. Para a sua análise, tomaremos como referência a taxonomia elaborada por Inês Caetano, Luís Santos e António Leitão, no seu artigo Computational design in architecture: Defining parametric, generative, and algorithmic design (2020). Neste artigo, os autores identificam que a literatura científica contemporânea relacionada com o desenho computacional está associada a três termos: desenho paramétrico, desenho algorítmico, e desenho generativo. Por este motivo, utilizaremos estes termos como eixos centrais para a nossa classificação e análise.]]></p></abstract>
