Dear readers,

I celebrate with all of you the launch of Volume 8 of Cuidados Humanizados, a magazine that keeps growing and betting on the quality of the articles it publishes. Today there are many professionals, academics and students who use the magazine as a consultation. This sustained development is the product of the response of authors, readers and reviewers, as well as the editorial team that works behind the scenes. I am grateful and I would like to welcome Dr. Mirliana Ramírez as a new member of the Editorial Board.

Being a journal that was born a nurse, in this issue we announce the celebration of the International Day of the Nurse, which is commemorated around the world on May 12, and for which, this year the CIE has prepared the slogan Nurses: A voice for Lead - Health for all.

Our magazine has managed to gather efforts from the sciences that intervene through its work to improve knowledge about the health and well being of people in all stages of development. In this sense it is important to note that, in our country, in the city of Montevideo, the eighth Latin American and Caribbean Congress -COMLAT 2019- and the VIII Uruguayan Congress of Gerontology and Geriatrics will take place on October 17, 18 and 19. organized by the Geriatrics and Gerontology Society of Uruguay and the Latin American and Caribbean Committee on Gerontology and Geriatrics (Official website of the Congress: http://www.congresogeriatria2019.uy). During these days the academic and scientific field of the region will meet, updating, reviewing and renewing the interdisciplinary that integrate Gerontology and Geriatrics in a rapidly aging continent and must prepare to have appropriate answers. "All Peoples - All elders. Aging with dignity " is the motto. From Ushuaia to the Rio Bravo, the multiplicity of ethnic groups, cultures and different socio-economic development make it even more complex to understand the aging process and adapt the response to the needs of the elderly.

Finally thank the entire reading community of Humanized Care and encourage those who have not yet done so, to publish with us.
