With great satisfaction, we present volume 17 of the journal Ciencias Psicológicas. In this volume, we publish 41 original articles and a brief communication. Consistent with its purpose and scope, Ciencias Psicológicas publishes research on a broad range of themes and fields of application within the discipline, bringing together authors, reviewers, and readers from different countries. We have a publication that consolidates itself as a space for exchange and reference in the region. We understand the various tensions to which the dissemination of scientific knowledge is subjected today, and for that reason, we analyze and incorporate, with a critical and forward-looking vision, the new guidelines that aim to increase the quality of publications and their impact on improving the well-being and health of individuals and communities.

In this issue, we must also make space to remember and express gratitude for everything that Prof. Dr. Héctor Fernández Álvarez gave us, who recently passed away. He was and remains a reference in psychology worldwide, but also a great advocate for scientific publication. He was part of the International Editorial Committee of the journal from the beginning with an enthusiastic attitude and tremendous generosity. We say “remains” because with his work and his good deeds, he continues to be that integrative theorist, respectful yet argumentative, a peaceful man, a skilled therapist, and a master in university teaching. He continues to set an example.

We close this volume by thanking the authors, reviewers, readers, and the editorial team of Ciencias Psicológicas, and wishing them peace this Christmas and New Year.
