In May, the 7th International Conference on Social Science and Humanities journals is held in Cuenca, Spain. At this annual event, the main international portals and the various managers and agencies related to the communication of science met to present and discuss different topics related to scientific publication.

Among the issues we are working on this year, we highlight the post-edition, which is broadly related to the actions that the editorial management teams must take to bring the publication product - the paper and especially the electronic version of it - to the final users: academics, scientists and the general public. The proposals put forward at the Conference cover several aspects of post-editing, from those that involve authors to those that have to do with the social impact of each work, an aspect that in the humanities, social sciences and also in health, is of great importance, especially nowadays that citizens seek information on the web, looking for access to certified quality products; it is there that our efforts must also be concentrated.

The quality of a journal is measured by several parameters, among which are those related to form and especially those related to content. In this sense, one of the main obstacles encountered by editorial management teams is the selection of referees - who are experts in the topics to be evaluated - and methodological advisers. A publication is valued for the fulfillment of the formal aspects that make it be considered such, and it transcends thanks to its quality of content; an increasingly demanding task in an environment where originality and care for good scientific output seem to collide with the speed of data communication in the global network.

In the history of knowledge it is a milestone that people can reach so directly to original sources of information, which implies a responsibility for publications, authors and evaluators. That long journey between the idea and the evidence requires constant reminding of the principles of science, beyond the space-time coordinates in which it passes or even more, adapting to them.
