Abstract
MANTILLA, María Jimena. BODIES, CHILDHOOD AND UPBRINGING: CORPORAL CARTOGRAPHY OF CHILDHOOD IN THE MODEL OF RESPECTFUL UPBRINGING IN ARGENTINA. Rev. urug. Antropología y Etnografía [online]. 2019, vol.4, n.1, pp.36-50. ISSN 2393-7068. https://doi.org/10.29112/ruae.v4.n1.4.
The aim of this article is to analyseinfantsbodies´s notions within respectful childrearing approach which describes phisiological processes as responsible from both infants behaviors and expected parents answers. The work is part of an ongoing research in which I analyse from an antropological perspective how respected childbirth and respectful childrearing of the city of Buenos Aires conceive the notion of nature. In this paper I suggest that the notions about childhood inherent to the respectful childrearing approach accentuate different metaphors of the organization of the infantile body experience that put into tension cultural ideas around proximity, distance, dependence and autonomy.
