Abstract

PRZYSZCENSKISILVA, Anderson. AN ETHNOGRAPHIC OF RITES AND CUSTOMS DURING THE TRAINING OF MILITARY POLICE IN MATO GROSSO. Rev. urug. Antropología y Etnografía [online]. 2018, vol.3, n.2, pp.75-86. ISSN 2393-7068.  https://doi.org/10.29112/ruae.v3.n2.5.

In general, with the current rates of violence, much has been criticized the public security forces. Based on this premise, this work aims to direct the "anthropological" look at military police training in the State of Mato Grosso. Establishing some questions such as the north of the research, for example, how does the transformation from civil to military? Is there a culture of police training? At what point, exactly, do rituals have the power to transform, confirm, access "other cosmological worlds"? This article is about the construction of narratives, from what I observe in the daily routine of the School of Formation and Improvement of Squares of PMMT, from the reception of the students to the ceremony of ritualization for the emergence of this new being, Who was a civilian, and has now become a military police officer. The fieldwork was carried out in three phases, the first one was from November 2015 to December 2015 (phase of reception of students in the ESFAP, initiation phase), from February to March 2016 (transition / liminality phase) and by End in the months of June to September 2016 (graduation ceremony).
