Abstract

SOBRERO, Alberto M.. LET’S RECONSIDER MIGUEL DE CERTEAU CONQUEST’S IMAGE: A WAY TO BUILD UP ANTHROPOLOGIC MODELS. Rev. urug. Antropología y Etnografía [online]. 2018, vol.3, n.1, pp.49-64. ISSN 2393-7068.  https://doi.org/10.29112/ruae.v3.n1.3.

I have no idea on de Certeau’s influence on the Latin American thought. But in Italy different factors (least but not last is the Catholic institution centrality) have made de Certeau’s works hardly and very late visible. Only during the last decade the mistake of separating the mystic scholar in Certeau from his human sciences researcher and critic was conquered. Just peak inside his editorial history with no intention to polemicize.

In a broad sense, his mystic and history of mysticism essays have been translated, most of them, by catholic publishers. Though it’s interesting how the most important catholic publishers have refrained to publish those most polemic towards ecclesiastical institutions, which were then published by lesser companies not always “aligned” with the Catholic institutions.

A clearly different luck suffer in Italy the works on human sciences translated by lay publishers of national coverage, even the L’invention du quotidian by the union publisher (Edizioni Lavoro, 2001)

Keywords : Michel De Certeau; mystics; Anthropology history; the Other.
