This research is divided into three parts. First, we present the legal notions and the various problematic aspects associated with the right to gender identity of children and adolescents in Law No. 21,120. Subsequently, we analyze some sentences that demonstrate the application that the Chilean courts make of the aforementioned regulation, a review that allows us to verify the work of these bodies in order to circumvent the restrictions of the norm. Finally, we examine the latest legal initiatives aimed at modifying the current regulation, establishing some criticisms and opportunities for improvement
