Resumen

HERNANDEZ SALAZAR, Patricia. Digital inclusion in older adults. Infor [online]. 2023, vol.28, n.2, pp.303-330.  Epub 01-Dic-2023. ISSN 2301-1378.  https://doi.org/10.35643/info.28.2.10.

Various authors and international, regional and national institutions have identified the low or non-existent use of information and communication technologies and digital tools by older adults as a social problem, which limits their ability to solve their daily problems more efficiently and places them in a situation of digital exclusion. In order to solve this problem, this paper advances a project that promotes the digital inclusion of this population in Mexico. It is organized in five main sections: introduction, background and causes of the lack of use are presented; research questions and objectives are integrated; a theoretical framework, based on the cognitive and qualitative approach, Bandura's Social Cognitive Theory, Wilson's Behavioural Model and Davis' Technological Appropriation Model and Leontiev's ideas of appropriation; the following section explains various actions that have been carried out in Mexico and some motivational strategies are proposed: user study of needs and interests; pedagogical model based on experience; and diversification of learning coordinators; finally future actions and some reflections are presented.

Palabras clave : Digital Inclusion; Older People; Ageism.
