COLOTTA SOSA, Matilde y LOPEZ DOURADO, Viviana. Social Security as an Instrument for Distribution of National Income. Rev. Fac. Der. [online]. 2021, n.52, suppl., e308. Epub 01-Dic-2021. ISSN 0797-8316. https://doi.org/10.22187/rfde2021n52espa13.
Social Security is an essential institute in the fight against poverty, indigence and inequality, insofar as it fulfills the purpose of distributing national income.
The analysis in historical perspective allows us to detect that important achievements in the fight against inequality were reached when there was an expansion of the welfare state. On the contrary, in times when social spending contracted, inequality increased.
A cohesive society is achieved through a developed Social Protection system, based on the principles of solidarity, sufficiency and universality.
