Abstract

CAVAZOTTI AIRES, Diogo. Sexual Education: A Human Right. Laws in Force in Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. Rev. Fac. Der. [online]. 2021, n.50, e116.  Epub Apr 01, 2021. ISSN 0797-8316.  https://doi.org/10.22187/rfd2021n50a16.

The study investigates how Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay work in sex education in current national laws. The aim is to analyze whether the aforementioned countries follow parameters and recommendations defined in international treaties ratified by the aforementioned nations. Starting with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to more recent documents, education was treated as a priority in childhood and adolescence, with the purpose of promoting the development of the integral personality of the human being. This includes attention to the teaching of sexuality as a way to provide conditions for access to information, public health and personal, professional and economic growth. This turns the theme as a strategic action of human rights, with a bias to promote well-being, respect and citizenship through a healthy, safe and productive life.
