Abstract

ROSSINI IGLESIAS, Gonzalo F.. Analysis of Law no 17,852 on Noise Pollution. Rev. Fac. Der. [online]. 2021, n.50, e101.  Epub Apr 01, 2121. ISSN 0797-8316.  https://doi.org/10.22187/rfd2021n50a1.

Uruguay has since 2004 a law that has as objective the prevention, measuring, and correction of noise pollution. Despite having almost two decades, the rules for this law have not yet been promulgated. Consequently, there are a number of gaps that should be addressed, in order to tackle the issue that affects not only human health, but also other living beings, and the environment. Furthermore, although noise pollution is one of the biggest problems that our society faces, there is little doctrinal and jurisprudential development on it. This study tries to address the existing regulations on noise pollution, as well as the challenges that this problem faces.
