This research aimed to examine the experiences of trans men in their interaction with primary health careservices in the metropolitan area of Montevideo, Uruguay. A qualitative approach was selected, using the biographical method (life stories). Five trans men between the ages of 19 and 41 participated in the study, recruited through snowball sampling. For data collection, a method consisting of two semi-structured interviews with each participant was used: the first to open the life narrative and the second for deepening and closure. Fieldwork was carried out between June 2019 and October 2020. The interviews were transcribed verbatim, and thematic content analysis was then conducted using atlas.ti 9 software. Based on the interviews, biographies were constructed and analyzed transversally across four dimensions: i) sexuality, ii) identity and partnerships, iii) family, education and work, iv) health; subsequently, the positive and negative experiences that emerged from the narratives were described. The negative experiences were classified into three categories: unspecific, specific, and minority stress-related. Participants also described the changes they would make in the health system to improve care for trans men. The results show progress in the health care of trans men in primary care services, highlighting the importance of empathetic and respectfultreatment and the use of the social name. However, some barriers were identified, revealing the need to strengthen the continuous training of health care teams to ensure equitable and competent care at all levels of the health system.
