CORTES, Agelén et al. Nursing care in a user carrier of hereditary Creutzfeldt Jakob disease. Revista urug. enferm. (En línea) [online]. 2025, vol.20, n.1, e304.  Epub 01-Dez-2025. ISSN 2301-0371.  https://doi.org/10.33517/rue2025v20n1a14.

Leading the administration of comprehensive and quality care for dependent patients is a great challenge and requires a comprehensive approach by the nursing team. Neurodegenerative diseases are mostly irreversible diseases that cause physical and intellectual disability in people who suffer from them, producing progressively carrying out basic activities of daily living. In the context of the Curriculum Internship Unit, pre-professional practice to obtain the Bachelor's degree in Nursing, the clinical case of a young woman admitted to the moderate care area of a public hospital with a diagnosis of Creutzfeldt-Jakob hereditary neurodegenerative disease is presented. The stated objective is to describe the nursing care process provided to the user to meet basic needs through nursing assessment with a model based on Virginia Henderson's 14 needs, highlighting the care plan executed. As a result, multiple interventions were carried out that successfully met the user's needs and improved her quality of life, allowing for reflection on one's own practice.
