Abstract
DE PENA, Lucía. Psychomotricity as a Field of Ethical-Political Intervention: From Sanitary Readings of the Health-Disease Process to Social Psychomotricity. Revista urug. enferm. (En línea) [online]. 2023, vol.18, n.1, e502. Epub June 01, 2023. ISSN 2301-0371. https://doi.org/10.33517/rue2023v18n1a2.
The origins of Psychomotricity as a discipline and as a professional practice, in the world in general and, in Uruguay in particular, are projected from energetic problems in the field of child neuropsychiatric clinic, which constitutes a founding and indelible identity mark. Practices rooted fundamentally in the health field guide readings of the health-disease-care process with the centrality of the theoretical and methodological references of the medical-hegemonic model. The fruitful dialogues with Psychoanalysis allow, a posteriori, readings of the process of construction of the body from the integration of the neurobiological support of movement with the process of psychic constitution. However, the reference to the socio-political dimension, at stake in the process of building the body, is quite later and recent and has had a more circumscribed development from the eighties onwards, in our country and in the region, from the reading of the body marked by the processes of State terrorism and social inequity, from the unavoidable framework of the human rights paradigm.
Starting from the local transits of the discipline and the profession, we propose what we call a Social Psychomotrity, which bears the identity mark of the south and generates an opening that allows to read the processes of construction of the body from the complexity of the dimensions at stake, with integrative perspectives, the health perspective in dialogue with the social perspective.
