RODRIGUEZ, Eliana; DAVYT, Marcos; HURTADO, Joaquín e ABELLA, Andrés. Is there a sex-based bias in the EDICH diagnostic test?. InterCambios [online]. 2024, vol.11, n.2, e210. Epub 01-Dez-2024. ISSN 2301-0118. https://doi.org/10.29156/inter.11.2.10.
In this work we sought to analyze if there were significant differences between men’s and women’s achievements in the Diagnostic Evaluation of Knowledge and Skills (EDICH), since this is the only test that students of all careers of the Faculty of Science have in common. From the analysis of this test we conclude that in general questions display independence of sex. The only exceptions were found in some cases in Physics, where women obtained significantly lower scores than would be expected if achievements were independent. This analysis was broadened and a bias in favor of men was observed in the Physics questions posed in the test, which could explain the differences we observed.
