OTEGUI, Ximena; CURIONE, Karina  y  MIGUEZ, Marina. Educational innovations in the School of Engineering: systematization of projects 2011-2020. InterCambios [online]. 2023, vol.10, n.1, pp.147-158.  Epub 01-Jun-2023. ISSN 2301-0118.  https://doi.org/10.29156/inter.10.1.14.

In the last decade, the role of educational innovation for the transformation of teaching at the Universidad de la República gained relevance in the areas of institutional discussion. Although there are publications that analyze implemented innovation experiences, there are few that systematize these developments. In the School of Engineering, a significant number of the undergraduate teaching proposals that can be identified as innovative were presented to “Educational Innovations in the different teaching modalities” fund of the Comisión Sectorial de Enseñanza. This article systematizes the thirteen educational innovation projects presented in 2011-2020 by teaching teams from the School of Engineering that were financed. The potentialities and the underlying problems, their objectives and the main elements of the teaching methodologies they propose are described. A qualitative content analysis of the texts evaluated for funding was performed. The analysis showed that the teaching teams identified challenges and made proposals with common characteristics. The projects focused on modifying teaching routines that show the main deficiencies identified for the courses where they were developed: focus on teaching presentation and individual work; not having enough spaces for the promotion of dialogue, exchange and the development of adequate skills for the demands of the university level; present difficulties in linking the contents worked on with the field of application of the careers. The proposals were based on the development of active teaching methodologies.
