The article analyzes the inequalities in the lag in the school trajectory, considering responding to the reasons that caused it according to the evaluations of students and graduates who passed the Bachelor of Administration, Industrial Design and Nutrition, under the plans prior to the reform in progress. Conceived as an indicator of academic selectivity, a mixed theoretical-methodological approach is chosen. As a measurable event, integrating the contributions of trajectory analysis (Roberti, 2017; Serna, 2005; Terigi, 2009), of the history of events (Meier, 1958) and academic performance (Serna, 2005; Zoppis, 2020). In its qualitative aspect, it is conceived as a critical period, adapting the typology elaborated from the sociology of education and the theoretical contributions from the institutional analysis (Fernández, 1998; Tinto, 1989). In the methodological aspect, the typological construction has been chosen (López-Roldán & Fachelli, 2015). The results presented here correspond to the first stage of multifactorial analysis based on the information collected through a retrospective self-administered and telephone survey. In conclusion, a first dimension reflects inequalities between Nutrition and Administration, the students of the former lag behind more quickly than those of Administration and do not present late lag due to completion of final career activities. A second axis reflects that Nutrition students fall behind more quickly due to the accumulation of social disadvantages and do not accumulate lag due to final career activities. On the other hand, socially advantaged students of Administration private sector option accumulate early lag and late lag for completion of thesis/final monograph; a third dimension that links the first lag with failures due to the presence of exclusionary curricular strategies.
