DANZA., Álvaro; PERENDONES., Mercedes; ROCA., Federico  y  GONI., Mabel. Teaching of clinical medicine in virtuality. Student satisfaction and pending challenges. InterCambios [online]. 2022, vol.9, n.1, pp.74-82.  Epub 01-Jun-2022. ISSN 2301-0118.  https://doi.org/10.29156/inter.9.1.9.

Teaching clinical medicine requires the acquisition of skills for which presence is extremely important. The covid-19 pandemic determined that strategies were put into practice to teach clinical medicine in virtual contexts, trying not to resent the academic training of the students and comply with the degree curriculum in the best possible way. This demanded a unique effort of creativity and the development of teaching strategies.

The objective of this work is to present a satisfaction survey carried out to students in the fifth year of the Doctor of Medicine career on the experience of teaching in virtuality developed by our service. We also set out to know the level of satisfaction of students regarding teaching performance in this context.

The response form was self-administered and anonymous. We used a 5-point Likert scale to determine the level of satisfaction. Out of 230 students surveyed, we got 111 responses. In the responses, a predominance of good and very good satisfaction levels was observed with the virtual educational proposals developed by our service. With regard to teachers, mostly a good or very good level of satisfaction is observed.

Teaching clinical medicine in virtuality is a great challenge. It is necessary to continue working to evaluate which aspects can be reasonably developed in a virtual way, without losing sight of the fact that the medical profession requires a human presence that is difficult to replace by computer tools.

Palabras clave : clinical medicine; virtual teaching; higher education.
