This study evaluated the incorporation of the b-learning approach in the teaching-learning process of the heat transfer laboratory of the Chemical Engineering career at the National University of Asunción (Paraguay) during the 2017 academic year. Virtual development included the visualization of educational videos elaborated for the course, resolution of pre-laboratory tests and delivery of reports, while the classroom (face-to-face) development of the course included the realization of laboratory practices. The student’s perception of the course design, the approach applied and the degree of difficulty perceived in the assimilation of knowledge with this modality was evaluated, as well as the performance obtained in the conceptual, procedural and final evaluations. The results show a high level of satisfaction with the design of the course and the incorporation of this methodology, a moderate degree of perceived difficulty and a satisfactory performance in the evaluations carried out; therefore, it is concluded that b-learning is an effective alternative in the teaching-learning process of this subject.
