Abstract

MUNETON, Mercedes  and  DORTA, Josefa. PRELIMINAR STUDY OF THE INTONATION OF BOGOTÁ SPEAKERS WITHOUT HIGHER EDUCATION IN A SVO CORPUS: F0, DURATION AND INTENSITY. Lingüística [online]. 2021, vol.37, n.1, pp.57-78.  Epub May 28, 2021. ISSN 2079-312X.  https://doi.org/10.5935/2079-312x.20210005.

This paper focuses on the prosody’s most important acoustic parameters in the speech of Bogota without studies belonging to urban zone from Bogotá within the framework of AMPER-International project. The analyses were made considering the sex, modality, syntagma and the accentual typology. Principal results showed specific pattern related to fundamental frequency and duration, but not with intensity: the tonemes displayed the specific pattern described for Spanish, both for declarative (descending contour) and interrogative sentences (ascending contour); the tonal peaks were synchronized with atone vowel; tonic vowel were longer than the adjacent ones; in intensity parameter, when there were differences between tonic-posttonic contrast, tonic vowel was the strongest. In general, the acoustic parameters measures were significantly higher in female than in male voice. However, those data should be taken with caution given that this is the first study that analyzed the three acoustic parameters in Bogota voices.

Keywords : prosody; fundamental frequency; duration; intensity; just noticeable difference.
