Abstract

AGUIRRE, Luis Alejandro. AN APPROACH TO PAUSES ANALYSIS OF WRITING PROCESS THROUGH KEYSTROKE LOGGING TECHNIQUE. Lingüística [online]. 2015, vol.31, n.1, pp.81-91. ISSN 2079-312X.

The aim of this article is to evaluate some aspects of pausing in writing  process. To achieve the above mentioned aim we asked write a summary starting from a video projection. This study involved 30 students of National University of Cuyo. Writing process of each student was recorded with a keylogger. We took into account temporary distribution of process (duration, time wasted in typing and pausing, distribution and value of pauses) and final text quality (holistic assessment). Results showed that freshmen dedicate scarce time to final textual reviewing and revising, still when total time of pausing is quite high. Besides, they activate processes recursively through full writing process, which is correlated to text quality

Keywords : writing process; pausing; keystroke logging; revision; text quality.
