Abstract

DREIDEMIE, Patricia. TYPOLOGICAL PREDICTIONS, FIELD DATA, AND LOANS INCORPORATION IN MIXED QUECHUA (SECOND PART). Lingüística [online]. 2012, vol.27, n.1, pp.136-167. ISSN 2079-312X.

This is the second of two articles analyzing the lexical and morphological borrowing of linguistic units in Mixed Quechua spoken by Bolivian immigrants in specific suburbs of Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the first article, we have exposed the data gathered by field-work, analyzed it, and developed the borrowing pattern of this linguistic variety of Quechua. We now deepen this case-study by confronting the data with typological predictions and borrowing hierarchies historically developed by Contact Linguistics; and, finally, by describing and examining the formal and semantic processes that occur in the ‘nativization’ of incorporated units.

Keywords : Mixed Quechua; Contact Linguistics; lexical borrowing; morphological borrowing.
