Abstract

ESQUIVEL-LOAIZA, Xóchitl Guadalupe; GUTIERREZ-ROJO, Jaime Fabián  and  GUERRERO-CASTELLON, Martha Patricia. Comparison of the cross-sectional size of the 0.012, 0.014 and 0.016 NiTi archs of three brands. Odontoestomatología [online]. 2020, vol.22, n.35, pp.12-19.  Epub June 01, 2020. ISSN 0797-0374.  https://doi.org/10.22592/ode2020n35a3.

Objective:

To determine if there are differences in the size of the NiTi arch in the 0.012, 0.014 and 0.016 sizes of three trademarks.

Material and methods:

180 NiTi arches of the American Orthodontics, TD Orthodontics and OrthoPremium brands were used. Descriptive statistics, ANOVA and Post Hoc were performed in the SPSS 18 program. Results: the arches of American Orthodontics presented significant statistical differences in the anterior and posterior part. In the upper arches of TD Orthodontics contraction was found in the 0.016 caliber. In the upper arches OrthoPremium presented a contraction in the anterior part and in the lower arch of 10 to 40mm. When comparing the three brands, significant statistical differences (p <0.05) were found between them with the ANOVA tests.

Conclusions:

there are differences in the sizes of the upper and lower arches of each brand and between them.

Keywords : Arch; Nickel Titanium alloy. Orthodontic.
