Abstract
OLIVARES, Julián. Secondary education for youths and adults in Argentina, South Korea and the United States. Cuad. Investig. Educ. [online]. 2024, vol.15, n.2, e211. Epub Dec 01, 2024. ISSN 1510-2432. https://doi.org/10.18861/cied.2024.15.2.3820.
This article aims to analyze the recent evolution of secondary education for youths and adults in Argentina, South Korea and the United States. Although different investigations indicate that this educational modality has had significant growth in Argentine territory and has achieved notable relevance within its educational system, it is not clear if this is something common on an international scale. Considering this problem to be solved, from a quantitative approach, various sources from international organizations and national entities of the three selected countries are used to see how these school offers have evolved in each country and the importance they have had within their borders. In that sense, the results of the research show that unlike what happens in Argentina, in South Korea and the United States, secondary schools for youths and adults have not tended to expand or occupy such a relevant place within their national educational systems. On the contrary, it is concluded that after an initial growth, throughout the last decades in both the Asian country and the North American one, these school proposals have tended to contract and have a relatively marginal position
