Resumen

FERNANDEZ ABUIN, Juan Pablo. The acquisition and development of digital competence in secondary education students: Case study. Cuad. Investig. Educ. [online]. 2016, vol.7, n.2, pp.83-98. ISSN 1510-2432.

Decree 86/2015 of June 25, which establishes the curriculum of compulsory basic and advanced secondary education in the autonomous community of Galicia, established seven key competences that, in the future, students in those stages would be required for their personal development, aiming at their social inclusion and employment and for them to become active citizens. The present work shows part of the results of a qualitative research conducted at secondary education facilities of the Galician Autonomous Community belonging to the Abalar Project Network. This research seeks to explore the process of integration of Information and Communication Technologies in teaching and learning practices for secondary education students, and to what extent do such practices contribute to the acquisition of digital skills at this level. After the analysis of the data obtained positive changes were observed at the organizational level at the educational premises after the arrival of the technology. However, no crucial methodological changes in daily teaching practices in the analyzed materials are evidenced. After the analysis of the different dimensions according to the proposal of the EU project DIGCOMP it was concluded that students are still at an early stage as regards the acquisition of digital skills
