Abstract

LEON FRIAS, ISAAC. An approach to the audiovisual and narrative analysis of the film Rome. Inmediac. Comun [online]. 2021, vol.16, n.1, pp.113-133.  Epub June 01, 2021. ISSN 1510-5091.  https://doi.org/10.18861/ic.2021.16.1.3101.

The article proposes an approach to the film Rome by Alfonso Cuarón starting from the description and signaling of the context of its realization, the characters involved in the plot and the settings that are shown and which serve to set the scene and give meaning to the narrative. Moreover, the article proposes an analytical development of the audiovisual procedures and the narrative mechanisms applied. In this sense, for the narrative analysis of Cuarón’s film, the semiotic concepts of the semantic field and the narrative point of view are used.

Keywords : Rome; Cuarón; narrative scheme; cinematographic resources; audiovisualization.
