Abstract

MAYER, Liliana  and  CEREZO, Leticia. Analysis of the contributions of a social program to the university path of socially disadvantaged young people. Pág. Educ. [online]. 2018, vol.11, n.2, pp.130-152. ISSN 1688-7468.  https://doi.org/10.22235/pe.v11i2.1631.

The purpose of this article is to present some of the results of the evaluation of a program, implemented in Argentina, that seeks to promote the inclusion and permanence of young people in a situation of social vulnerability through the deployment of two resources: monthly stipend and university tutoring. To this end, the perceptions of students regarding the main implications of the program are analysed, focusing on the factors that enable them to remain and continue in the institutions. The research is mainly qualitative; it combines focus groups with in-depth interviews and is complemented by self-administered surveys. The program and its resources make interesting contributions to the inclusion and retention of young people in the higher education system.
