Resumen

SCHIAVON, Sandra Helena; FAGUNDES DA SILVA, Elza  y  ARTIGAS, Joanita do Rocio. The Use of Journals as Theoretical Background in Dissertations and Theses about Teacher Continuous Training (2010-2014). Pág. Educ. [online]. 2015, vol.8, n.2, pp.158-171. ISSN 1688-7468.

The purpose of this article is to evaluate the use of journals in research on continuing education of teachers in online dissertations and theses available in CAPES Portal for the period 2010 - 2014. This is an exploratory research with a quantitative approach. The analysis material and reference was made up of dissertations and theses of Master and Doctorate in Education in Brazil in the period 2010 to 2014, available in the public domain portal - Digital Library, CAPES and selected the descriptor “Teacher Training ". The results show that only 12.1% of the research on teacher training using the journals as a theoretical framework. We conclude that the use of journals in the academic research field is still in its infancy and many researchers still use periodic high of impact or not indexed. One limitation of the study was the use of only a database for the collection of dissertations and theses containing the selected descriptors. It is extremely important to disclose, among researchers, that the use of periodicals as bibliographic references can provide more recent studies of the issues to be investigated
