Abstract

ACEVEDO, Fernando. An approach to the phenomenon of educational disaffiliation in the transition to Higher Education within Uruguayan provinces. Pág. Educ. [online]. 2014, vol.7, n.1, pp.180-210. ISSN 1688-7468.

The text focuses on the issue of educational disaffiliation in public Higher Education in Uruguay, particularly in the case of a teacher training organization in the Northeast region of the country. The article structure is twofold: firstly, the magnitude of this problem is greater in periods of transition between School Education and Higher Education; on the other, although the magnitude is proportionally similar across Uruguay, the implications and the meanings of the phenomenon of educational disaffiliation are substantially different depending on the characteristics of educational organizations in which it occurs and the structure of opportunities in the territories in which these organizations are embedded
