Teaching humanities in Medicine aims to sensitize students about the social and cultural dimensions of health and disease. Here, relevant discussions about teaching medical humanities are considered, in a reflective tone, especially with regard to its insertion in medical education curriculum. Knowledge of the work in regional medical schools can be a useful starting point for the discussion and analysis of the Uruguayan experience
