Abstract
VELOSO, Fabiola Espinoza and TAPIA DE LA FUENTE, Belén. Dialogues Between Community Psychology and Feminism: Situated Experiences to Challenge Dichotomies. Psicol. Conoc. Soc. [online]. 2025, vol.15, n.1, e1521. Epub Dec 01, 2025. ISSN 1688-7026. https://doi.org/10.26864/pcs.v15.n1.12.
Through this research, we aim to explore the dialogues between Community Psychology and feminism by highlighting the feelings and knowledge emerging from the experiences of five feminist community psychologists situated in various regions of Chile during the year 2022. Our field of knowledge and line of inquiry are grounded in feminist epistemologies and qualitative methodology, and we propose a unique method of information production called the Digital Conversation Circle.
In this investigative process, we establish three core axes or moments: work experiences, meanings of community, and the participants’ ways of feeling-thinking (sentipensares) about the place of feminism within community psychology. Through this, we identify commonalities, contributions, tensions, and potentialities.
As for the structure of the text, we begin with a brief overview of the history and theoretical conceptualization of Community Psychology, followed by the initiation of dialogue between this discipline and feminisms, along with a detailed explanation of our methodological approach. We then present the findings according to the three previously mentioned axes and conclude with the main insights and conclusions.
Keywords : Community psychology; feminism; community; the common.
