In Happycracia, Edgar Cabanas and Eva Illouz carry out a study of the current of positive psychology and its influence in the fields of education, public policies, psychology and labor relations. Focusing on the proposal of positive psychology to scientifically measure and stimulate happiness, they describe the main criticisms and problems attributed to this current, as well as its impact on various professional and institutional fields. They relate the impact of this current to the rise of neoliberalism and the pressures to provide individual responses to social problems.

Keywords : History of Psychology; neoliberalism; happiness.
