This research consisted of a systematic review of literature about the psychologist's performance at the Social Assistance Reference Center - CRAS, from 2011 to 2020. A search for scientific articles was carried out in the databases Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), Scientific Journals in Psychology (PePSIC), Network of Scientific Journals of Latin America and the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal (Redalyc), CAPES periodic, Scopus and Latindex, using the descriptors: “ Atuação do psicólogo”, “psychologist Acting”, “CRAS”, “Psicologia” e “Psychology”. Of the 182 articles found, only 35 met all the criteria adopted in this research. From the analysis of the articles, two thematic categories emerged that addressed: the main activities developed by psychologists at CRAS; and the difficulties facing this field of action. In relation to the first, was evidenced the existence of various activities carried out by psychologists at CRAS, however, the use of clinical technology in actions is still recurrent, implying punctual and distant interventions from the psychosocial context of public served. Among the difficulties faced by the psychologist, deficiencies in university education and institutional problems stand out. It concludes by the need to reconfigure traditional actions in psychology, as well as the social assistance policy, still elapse by the bias of assistance, aiming to implement practices that promote the guarantee of social rights and emancipation of CRAS users.
