Abstract

VELAZQUEZ, Tesania; RIVERA, Miryam  and  CUSTODIO, Elba. Accompaniment and staffcare in community psychology: A theoretical and practical model. Psicol. Conoc. Soc. [online]. 2015, vol.5, n.1, pp.307-334. ISSN 1688-7026.

Community psychology seeks to promote changes in the communities; therefore, the main interest of this disciplinary field is oriented towards the population. However, it has not been made visible the impact and change in professional teams and promoters who work doing community actions. The vulnerability of population impacts in the team members by making them to postpone their own care. This leads to the emergence of problems that affect nodal elements of community work: loss of purpose, violence, decreased self-critical perspective, overload and emotional impact. This paper presents a model of support and care of equipment including some processes as: continuous monitoring of field activities, analysis of the correlation between the activities and objectives of social change, analysis of the impact of violence on self work of the team and, above all, critical reflection of institutional care responsibilities. This model contributes significantly to the achievement of the own social transformation processes of community psychology.
