Since its creation in 2003, the Propuesta Republicana (PRO) party has become a consolidated member of the party system in Argentina. This is a new fact in the countryʼs political history, in which the right-wing forces had failed to build a democratically competitive party. In this article we address this process through the understanding of its party resources. Based on a qualitative investigation in two municipalities of the Province of Buenos Aires, we analyze the deployment of low-cost resources together with a pragmatic attitude that characterized the party construction of the PRO in these municipalities.
