Abstract

FRACCAROLI, Yuri. The brazilian and civil-military dictatorship the sex/gender dissidents: between the Political Memory and the everyday memories. Rev. Urug. Cienc. Polít. [online]. 2022, vol.31, n.1, pp.25-53.  Epub June 01, 2022. ISSN 0797-9789.  https://doi.org/10.26851/rucp.31.1.2.

Started with a brief description of the historical and legislative context that frames the constituency difficulties of the National Truth Comission (ntc) in Brazil, the article seeks to concisely recover the articulation of the topic «Dictatorship and Homosexualities» in the ntc bulge. Based on the recognition of the importance of this political memory in construction, the discussion intends to propose a dialogue with this field from two reflections: a) a critique of the choice of the term «homosexualities» as a significant to refer to the totality of dissident gender and sexuality expressions and practices politically persecuted in that period; b) considering current studies that verse about the concept of resistance’s use in the memories/histories of Brazilian civil-military dictatorship, the article aims to explore other behaviors and relations between the sex/gender dissidents and the dictatorship, emphasizing the everyday memories recovered by six testimonies.

Keywords : lgbt memory; Brazilian military dictatorship; Brazil; homosexualities; lgbt.
