Abstract

MILANESI, Alejandro  and  GADEA, (Victoria. Institutional development and characterization of the Center of Government in Uruguay. Rev. Urug. Cienc. Polít. [online]. 2017, vol.26, n.2, pp.103-125. ISSN 0797-9789.  https://doi.org/doi.org/10.26851/rucp.v26n2.5.

The Centers of Government (CoG) have generated a growing attraction as an object of study. They are central for understanding how some policies and government decisions are developed. This article provides a description of the institutional construction of the CoG in Uruguay and characterizes it according to the models and functions that literature identifies as typical features of this space, as well as, to the paradigms of state and public administration developed in the country. Although this area has undergone several transformations, the institutional development does not seem to have followed a clear pattern of construction and exhibits some delay in terms of the specific functions reserved for it.
