Abstract

CRUZ, Facundo. Lower level partners?: Contributions to the study of sub-national coalitions in multi-level political systems. Rev. Urug. Cienc. Polít. [online]. 2014, vol.23, n.1, pp.11-39. ISSN 1688-499X.

Abstract. This paper seeks to highlight the importance of the study of sub-national coalitions. Returning to the agenda of research carried out in European countries and analyzing the first studies on Latin America, I highlight the most important elements of the work done and, from there; I propose an approach to study sub-national coalitions and their linkage with national coalitions. In this sense, I consider that there is an important field of study to address research on multilevel coalitions in Latin America. The European case studies can help us to highlight important elements to delineate future and enriching research.

Keywords : sub-national coalitions; political parties; Europe; Latin America.
