Abstract

ROCHA CARPIUC, Cecilia. Science in Uruguay (1989-2009): Topics, theories and methodologies. Rev. Urug. Cienc. Polít. [online]. 2012, vol.21, n.spe, pp.97-127. ISSN 1688-499X.

Abstract: In the last years, the interest in the academic study of political science has increased. One of the reasons that explain this interest is that the institutional development of the discipline is widely recognized among its practitioners but disputes about theories and methodologies persist. This paper presents the international debate about the “state of political science” and describes the main topics, theories and methodologies of the discipline in Uruguay in the period 1989-2009 through evidence from the “Instituto de Ciencia Política”

Keywords : Political Science; Uruguay; theories; methodologies.
