Summary The ozonized sunflower oil (OSO), called as OLEOZON® oral is a registered drug in Cuba for the treatment of intestinal giardiasis and it has wide spectrum germicidal effect. The aim of this study was evaluate the effectiveness of OSO as treatment of diarrhea processes in rabbits. The animals were divided in two groups of 20 each other. The group I OSO (50 mg/Kg) was applied, while the group II was treated with Polisul (11, 3 mg/Kg). Both products were applied every 24 h during 3 days. At the end of both treatment schedules a second microbiological analysis of the fecal material was made for bringing a cure criterion. The results demonstrated that AGO had an equivalent effectiveness to the Polisul, concluding that this product can be used as treatment of diarrhea processes caused by enteroamebas and coccidias in rabbits and no side effects were observed belongs to the evaluated products
